Aldous joins York on month-long loan

Newcastle Thunder’s Harry Aldous will play Championship rugby league for the next month as the club agree to a one-month loan deal with high-flying York City Knights.

Aldous will join the Bootham Crescent outfit with immediate effect; though will be ineligible to play against Thunder in the 1895 Cup clash against York on June 2nd.

Over the course of his loan, the Knights face Featherstone Rovers, Widnes Vikings, Toulouse Olympique and Rochdale Hornets.

Thunder head coach Simon Finnigan said: “Harry has been very good in training, but he’s in a position where competition is very high and we just can’t get him a game at the moment.

The York opportunity has come along which means he is going to get some game time, which he hasn’t had of late and I’ll be able to have a look at him in those games and if he does good, then he’ll come back and jump back in with us.”
