Thunder in action this Saturday

Newcastle Thunder continue their preparations for the new Betfred League 1 season this Saturday evening, with a pre-season friendly against Hemel Stags at Kingston Park Stadium (KO 6pm)

Having had their first hit out of the year last week against Castleford Tigers, Thunder will be looking to build on the encouraging signs they showed against one of their League 1 fellows this weekend.

Boasting a number of familiar faces, former Thunder players Sonny Esslemont, Chris Heil, Ricky Hough and Louis Sherriff could be among the Stags line up on Saturday in what will be Thunder’s final game before they kick off the new season away to West Wales Raiders on February 18.

Forming part of a double-header of rugby at Kingston Park on Saturday, Thunder’s clash with Hemel follows on from the Falcons taking on Gloucester in the Anglo-Welsh Cup at 3pm.

For fans wishing to attend both codes games, Falcons match tickets will grant entry to the Thunder friendly, while for those just interested in the league game, tickets can be bought by clicking here, calling 0871 2266060 or by visiting the Kingston Park Stadium box office.

Saturday’s friendly is not included on the 2018 Newcastle Thunder season ticket membership package.
