Luckley earns call into Scotland squad

Newcastle Thunder back row Sam Luckley is in line to earn his first cap for Scotland this weekend, after being called into the Bravehearts 19-man squad for Saturday’s European Championship  fixture against Ireland (KO 2pm)

Luckley, who recently signed a new contract to remain at Kingston Park Stadium for the 2019 season, has become an increasingly important figure for the club since making his debut in 2016, with his dependability a key trademark of his game.

In matches that are doubling up as qualification fixtures for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup, Scotland head coach Chris Chester will be hoping the 22-year-old from North Shields can replicate that form if chosen to perform on the international stage.
