Semi final details and travel confirmed

Details of Newcastle Thunder’s Kingstone Press League 1 play-off semi final against Barrow Raiders have been confirmed, with the match to take place on Sunday 24 September at 3pm.

The third meeting between the two sides this season, tickets prices have been confirmed by the Raiders as £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and £5 for juniors, with all Thunder junior season ticket holders admitted free of charge.

With a fantastic travelling support providing vocal backing to the team in the 24-26 win over York City Knights, that confirmed Thunder’s qualification for the play offs, the club have confirmed there will be an official supporters coach running to the game.

Leaving Kingston Park Stadium at 10:30, places will be priced at £15 per person and sold on a first come first served basis.

Should there be sufficient demand, the club has not ruled out adding additional transport, with general manager Jordan Robinson thanking the supporters for their efforts at Bootham Crescent.

He said: “We had well over 100 supporters getting behind the lads at York and they really made their presence felt when they needed that extra boost.”

“It was a close run thing when we player Barrow in the Super 8s, but we’re going to be the underdogs on their patch so every travelling fan will be crucial to making the play-off final.”
