Liam Finn First Team Halfback A vastly experienced half who has played approaching 400 games with some of the game’s biggest clubs, Liam has been a prolific point’s scorer at the top levels of rugby league, with over 2,500 to his name so far in his illustrious 16-year career. Widely regarded for his on-field intelligence, it is that experience and game management ability that he will be hoping to bring to the fore to Thunder’s campaign in 2019. An extremely accurate kicker, Finn set a new world record in 2012 with 41 successful kicks at goal, beating the previous record of 38 set by Barry Eaton in 2003. Internationally capped by Ireland and currently captain of the national team, he has played in 24 tests including matches at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup. Moving from the playing squad to coaching set-up at Wakefield Trinity, his desire to keep playing while he embarks on his new role within the game paved his way to Kingston Park with his signing generating huge levels of excitement in the Thunder army when announced in August 2018.
