Jason Robinson dinner filling fast

Rugby fans across the North East are flocking to Newcastle Thunder’s sportsman’s dinner on Saturday June 30th, eager to hear stories from the career of one of both rugby league and rugby union’s all-time greats.

Jason Robinson OBE will be the headline attraction at an event that will raise funds for the club’s academy teams, with a question and answer session with the dual-code great, a three-course meal, stand up comedian and further entertainment all on offer.

Robinson was a star in rugby league over an eight-year career that saw him make over 300 appearances for Wigan Warriors, win Super League’s first ever grand final and earn 19 international caps for England and Great Britain, before he went on to enjoy huge success as a fullback in rugby union.

Scoring England’s only try on their way to triumph in the 2003 World Cup final, Robinson also lifted the Guinness Premiership title with north-west club Sale Sharks in season 2005/06.

With a glittering record in both codes from which to regale guests with stories from, it is an evening that promises to offer insight into one of the great names of the game, while raising valuable funds to develop the next wave of North East rugby league talent.

Priced at £48 inc VAT per person, tickets are available to book by contacting Thunder’s partnerships manager Amy Kirsopp on 0191 214 2835 or by emailing [email protected]
