Colton Roche will return to the Newcastle Thunder forward pack for the 2021 season, after making an instant impact on arrival from Bradford Bulls this year.

A product of the Leeds Rhinos academy structure, the 27-year-old is an experienced Irish international and demonstrated his prowess as a powerful and direct runner and his reputation for bringing intent to his side’s defensive contact at the start of 2020

With more than 100 games under his belt since making his debut in 2012, Roche is experienced head who has played across the divisions including Super League with Huddersfield Giants.

Able to play at second-row and centre Roche offers a degree of versatility to Thunder that the club will look to make full use of in 2021.

Speaking about his new deal, Roche said: “Thunder is a club which has ambition, its great to be a privilege to be a part of a place that had a clear goal.

“I enjoy seeing the guys at training and game days, we play for each other. I’m looking forward to contributing to the 2021 season.”
