Thunder partner with Macron from 2020

Newcastle Thunder are delighted to announce a new long-term partnership with leading sports apparel and teamwear specialist, Macron.

The agreement will see the two working together until 2024, and demonstrates the desire and willingness from both parties to work on common goals in a long-term project which also sees the Italian brand teaming up with Newcastle Falcons rugby union club.

Thunder are proud to partner with Macron and to enjoy the quality, design and technical features of its products that have secured the brand a position of leadership in the world of international rugby union.

The partnership with Macron will see a brand new range of merchandise launched for the 2020 season, including items as modelled by Sam Luckley above and a fresh look in the club’s home and away shirts.

Ross Cook, Macrons sports marketing manager, said “It is a true privilege to be working with Thunder along with Newcastle Falcons.

“This club and the North East, in general, is a hotbed for rugby talent, and the club’s strategy to help support and grow this talent fits in perfectly with Macron’s ideas.

“We have worked hand in hand with the club to create a bespoke kit which we hope the fans will love. We know that this season has been tough, but the club shall rise again, and together we can do great things.”

Mick Hogan, Newcastle Thunder chairman said: “It’s fantastic news that a well-known and respected rugby brand like Macron are buying into the long-term vision that we have for both Thunder and Falcons and that they want to be part of it.

“Their proven track record of supplying quality kit for teams and supporters of both club and national teams in rugby union is there for all to see, and we look forward to a long and mutually-beneficial partnership.”
