Ireland international Bob Beswick first joined the Thunder ranks from Toronto Wolfpack at the end of 2019, as the vastly experienced hooker made a transatlantic switch to the ambitious north east club.
Heading into his 17th professional season, Beswick featured in all four of Thunder’s competitive games pre Covid-19 and became one of the most experienced players to ever pull on a Thunder shirt, with more than 400 games played in his career to date.
Making his Super League debut in 2004 with Wigan, Beswick played in the top-flight for two years before establishing himself as one of the most competitive and creative hookers at Championship level across a superb ten-year stint.
As well as having a wealth of experience at club level, the 34-year-old is one of the most capped internationals for Ireland, with 27 to his name. A player who has proven to be an exceptional leader both on and off the field through a high level of professionalism, his tremendous work ethic often sees him top the tackle count and he’ll undoubtedly be a key figure in Thunder’s 2021 campaign.
