Super League back Calum Turner will join Newcastle Thunder from Castleford Tigers for the 2021 season, as the club strengthens its strike options in an already talented backline.
A product of the Tigers academy and community club Lock Lane, the 23-year-old joins Thunder having made 15 appearances for Castleford.
Turner’s Super League debut came in try-scoring fashion back in 2018 against Hull FC and alongside his top-flight outings, has played a further eight games in the Championship while on loan at Featherstone Rovers.
A former England academy member, he will also provide Thunder with another goal-kicking option, with the player having made kicks for both the Tigers and Featherstone.
Someone who likes to play with a bit of freedom and to take on the line on in an off-the-cuff fashion, Turner is a versatile player who can offer potent options in a number of positions for the club.
